Air Monitoring
Macau air quality statistics published
Nov 27 2008
Data compiled by the Weather Bureau showed that the quality of air ranged from good to unhealthy, though the consensus among four monitoring stations was mainly positive.
For 84 per cent of the month, air was deemed to be good, with moderate quality reported for the remaining 16 per cent.
The poorest quality was recorded at stations located near to roadsides, the Macau Daily Times reports.
Furthermore, the first day of the month was the only day that an unhealthy rating was registered.
A rating of between zero and 50 is classified as good, while 51 to 100 is moderate.
The news comes after Stichting Natuur en Milieu reported on an EC survey which showed a higher level of nitrogen oxide and ammonia in the air of the Netherlands than in any other part of Europe.
