European cities have good air quality, report shows

Feb 15 2011

The air quality of cities around Europe is high, according to a recent report.

Data from Friday (February 11th 2011) and yesterday (February 14th) put together by AirNow, CITEAIR and the American Embassy of Beijing has been revealed in an article in the Independent.

It showed that the air quality in major cities in Europe achieved a 'good' rating on average for both of those days.

This includes results from London, Paris, Brussels, Berlin and Prague.

Switzerland's Zurich achieved a good air quality rating for Friday, but this dropped to moderate for yesterday's results.

Comparatively, data taken from other big cities around the world such as those in the US were not as good, with New York and San Francisco getting moderate scores.

Mexico City and New Delhi ranked the worst, with their results showing that the air quality was 'unhealthy for sensitive groups'.

Both these cities were found to have poor air quality last week as well, with the pair achieving similar results on Thursday (February 10th).
