Air quality high in Europe, says report
Mar 15 2011
The Independent has revealed information compiled by AirNow, CITEAIR and the American Embassy in Beijing to assess the pollution in major cities in the world.
Out of the countries tested in Europe, Madrid and London were the only two to have less than 'good' standards of air quality.
Madrid was reported to have a 'moderate' grade on Thursday (March 10th 2011), while London achieved the same mark on Friday (March 11th).
Comparatively, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, Prague and Zurich were given a rating of 'good' for both days.
The standards are similar to those recorded last month, except that London received a higher score on February 11th and 14th than it did in March and Zurich had a 'moderate' rating on the two February dates.
New York, Shanghai and Hong Kong all achieved 'moderate' scores on March 11th.
