New range of pyrometers with enhanced communication interfaces for cutting edge industrial temperature measurements
Aug 31 2023
AMETEK Land recently relaunched its highly acclaimed SPOT pyrometer range with improved features for a wide range of industrial applications. The improved SPOT+ family provides an extensive range of temperature measurements from 50 to 3500 °C (or 122 to 6332 °F) and options of different wavelengths for demanding applications such as metals, glass, cement and lime kilns and foundries. The SPOT+ range includes monochromatic and ratio pyrometers, fibre optic heads as well as highly advanced algorithm pyrometers for complex materials including aluminium and galvanized steel.
A variety of new communications interfaces makes the SPOT+ the perfect choice for Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) factory automation applications as well as conventional 4-20 mA signals. Ethernet/IP, REST API and Modbus TCP/IP, all of which are standard on SPOT+; a built-in web server offers easy access for control and set-up via a standard browser, while improved cybersecurity thwarts unauthorised access to the instrument functions.
SPOT + features an integrated video camera that provides a visible light process view along with infrared temperature measurement, enabling sighting to be performed safely and easily. The video images are available through the web server and AMETEK Landās IMAGEPro software, so alignment can be inspected remotely and images can also be logged for quality purposes.
The pyrometers can be operated in extreme environmental conditions, as well as in hazardous zones 1, 2, 21 and 22, when mounted in LANDās high-spec EXSH enclosure. SPOT + pyrometers have a response time down to 1 ms, making them ideal for fast-moving processes.
These devices were created thanks to extensive research and development. The new enhancements provide users with improved connectivity for easy integration with control systems and rest assured knowledge that the data transmission is secure. Improved electronic and electromechanical components ensure even more highly reliable and accurate operations, all backed by AMETEK Landās 36-month warranty and supported by an extensive range of accessories for installations in the most demanding of industrial applications.
