Poor quality air in our towns and cities is well publicised. Contaminants in the indoor environment are more than 1,000 times more likely to be inhaled than outdoor air and can be up to 10 times more polluted than outside air.

Children are particularly vulnerable to poor indoor air quality as their lungs are still developing. Their airways are smaller, so inflammation caused by pollution can cause them to narrow more easily than in older people.
