YSI Launches Unique Technology at WWEM 2010
Sep 30 2010
YSI’s new ’Castaway CTD’ will be given its first UK outing at WWEM 2010. Designed for fast, accurate hydrologic profiling, the Castaway is simply thrown into the water and retrieved manually. The device automatically records conductivity and temperature profile data, depth and GPS position, so that no field notes or computers are necessary.
The YSI Hydrodata stand (No. 79) will also feature a number of other exciting new developments. For example, in the water quality monitoring field, the new Pro Quatro and a new fast response pH sensor will be on display. The Quatro is an attachment option for the Pro Plus series of portable meters that provides 4 ports to measure temperature/conductivity, DO, and any two ISEs from pH, ORP, ammonium, chloride, or nitrate.
In the hydrology sector, YSI Hydrodata will demonstrate a new version of the RiverSurveyor M9; a nine-beam acoustic Doppler profiler offering multiple acoustic frequencies that adjust automatically for highly accurate measurements from 0.06m to 30m depths.
Another first for YSI at WWEM will be a highly sensitive bubbler water level sensor from Design Analysis Associates with satellite data collection and communication capability.
