Continuous In-Line Density Meter Launched for Wastewater Industry
Oct 13 2012
SCIAM Worldwide (USA) has introduced an innovation set to transform density measurement of slurries within the water and waste industry. The in-line, continuous density meter, DM3, calculates density by measuring direct mass over a known volume within a flow tube. By directly calculating density rather than inferring or estimation, this technology improves the accuracy, value for money and environmental viability of sensor and mass flow systems. The DM3 has proven to be safer and more cost effective than hazardous nuclear techniques or inefficient auto-sampling within any slurry processing operation.
The DM3 effortlessly measures abrasive media thanks to its highly resilient gum-rubber lined flow tube with customisable options for high pressure and extreme temperature applications. Designed for optimal use within water and waste applications, the DM3 provides continuous readings of the slurry, which occur 110 times per second with a 45 millisecond data response time giving a truly representative sample of production volume and efficiency data.
Early adopters include industry leaders looking to improve their bottom line by utilising SCIAM’s cutting edge technology. An example of the systems use is the dry mass flow measurement of wastewater as it is transported from waste lagoons to geotextile tubes for dewatering. By replacing auto samplers, early adopters benefit from an exponential increase in accuracy and efficiency.
Each unit is custom designed and manufactured within the United States and distributed throughout the globe. Certified by CE, UL, NTEP and IECEE with directly NIST traceable measurements, this proven technology is positioned to be the industry’s leading density measurement instrument.
