New Photometric Methods for Water Analysis
May 06 2014
Ponsel’s (France) Photopod has been a real success, and new methods will be added in order to offer the most complete package for water analysis. Current analysis methods use liquid reagents for some parameters and solid reagents for others. Sometimes however, solid reagents can be difficult to manipulate or is difficult to dissolve, but they usually present no storage danger and have long shelf life. Liquid reagents, on the other hand, are easy to manipulate but usually have a shorter shelf life. Because storage conditions and working environments are different for all customers, it ‘s better to have the choice between methods using liquid reagents or methods using solid reagents. In order to propose the most complete solution and to best fit the customers’ needs, Ponsel is pleased to announce the launch of these new products.
Photopod is a unique innovation born from the meeting of companies Ponsel and Orchidis, both owned by the Aqualabo Group. The multiparameter Odeon is one of Ponsel’s best seller. Orchidis manufactures chemical reagents and has many years of experience in photometry.
The set Odeon-Photopod was created to answer all the constraints of measurement on the ground and in the laboratory; it consists of an overall of a compact, strong and tight photometer and a portable multiparameter device.
The Odeon is a handheld multiparameter on which you can plug in different type of numerical sensors that can measure pH, T°, ORP, conductivity, DO (optical sensor), turbidity etc. The Photopod is a device you can plug into the Odeon in order to do photometric analysis. Thanks to 5 different wavelengths, there are many parameters that the Photopod can measure, such as NH4+, NO3-, PO43-, Cl2, Fe, COD etc. Methods of analysis are easy to realise and do not require a technical background in chemistry.
