Landia UK celebrates 30 years of innovation and growth in the pumping industry

Landia UK is celebrating three decades of success since its founding in 1994 as a subsidiary of Denmark’s Landia A/S, which was established in 1933. Initially a modest two-person operation led by Liz Robinson and the late Hugh Vaughan, the company has grown into a trusted provider of wastewater and slurry pumping solutions across a range of industries, including water treatment, food production, farming, and biogas.

Today, Liz Robinson, alongside Paul Davies, leads Landia UK, a company renowned for its commitment to offering durable, low-maintenance equipment that delivers exceptional long-term value to its customers. Landia UK's continued success is a testament to the reliability and longevity of its products, which offer unmatched total cost of ownership.

Reflecting on the company’s growth, Liz Robinson commented, “Starting from scratch 30 years ago as a virtually unknown entity, we’ve built a strong reputation as problem solvers, offering high-quality products and tailored solutions. I’m deeply grateful to our dedicated team, whose hard work has been instrumental in our success. While our solutions may not always be the cheapest upfront, the long-term savings and reliability they provide make them the most cost-effective choice.”

Landia UK has achieved notable successes in recent years, particularly with its innovative digester mixing systems for the biogas sector. Landmark installations include projects with Yorkshire Water, Scottish Water, Eco Verde Energy, and Cannington Bio Energy. Additionally, the company has received widespread recognition for its pumping and aeration solutions, which have been deployed in diverse settings such as Timothy Taylor’s Brewery, Deeside Cereals, and farms across the UK and Ireland.

Paul Davies, who plays a key role in the company’s leadership, said, “As we mark our 30th anniversary, we are proud of how far we’ve come. However, the demand for our pumps continues to grow, especially in industries dealing with challenging wastewater and slurry conditions. Our customers value the robust nature of our equipment, and we’re committed to providing ongoing support well beyond the sale. Unlike some competitors, we don’t just walk away after the installation – we stay involved to ensure our solutions continue to perform.”

Landia UK’s commitment to its people and the local community is also evident in its long-standing apprenticeship program. Now in its 18th consecutive year, the company has trained a new generation of engineers, many of whom began as apprentices in the workshop and are now working in the field, servicing and selling Landia’s equipment. These skilled young professionals are poised to play a critical role in the company’s future.

As Landia UK looks ahead to the next 30 years, it remains focused on its core values of innovation, customer service, and developing the next generation of engineering talent.
