School's water found to be contaminated

Portobello High in east Edinburgh, Scotland, was discovered to have "persistent levels" of bacteria in its tap water, though parents were told water taps were out of use as they were broken.
Pupils have now been urged to bring bottled water to school with them, reported the Scotsman.
An employee at the school told the Edinburgh Evening News: "I think it's a disgrace that the school budget should have to be spent on bottled water. It's a basic amenity that a school should have water and it should be up to the council to provide the money."
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for the council stated that although the bacteria levels are not threatening, steps are being taken to improve the water supply quality.
This news comes after scientists last week discovered that three of the UK's top bottled water brands contained high levels of phthalates, which can lead to deformities in male fetuses.
