New high accuracy water inline ultrasonic flow meter completes range of meters for process cooling systems
Nov 10 2021
AW Lake recently launched a Water Inline (WIN) ultrasonic flowmeter, for use in industrial process cooling applications including cooling circuits. This dependable and robust instrument precisely measures the flow of cooling water, condensing water and water and glycol solutions. The WIN flowmeter is durable, and accurate, with minimal maintenance costs. It has no moving parts and its two wetted transducers face one another directly within the flow tube, so the signal strength is excellent and wear damage is avoided.
The WIN Ultrasonic Flowmeter provides operators with a high level of precision (+1.0% of reading over 25:1 turndown, 100:1 total turndown) over a wide flow range with almost no pressure drop. AW Lake’s advanced flow tube design has simplified installations in limited straight runs and eradicated obstructions occurring in the flow path. Holding an IP67 (NEMA 6) rating, This ultrasonic flowmeter operates safely and reliably if temporarily submerged in water.
A version with a detachable LCD display is supplied with Modbus RTU Communications as standard and provides clear details of flow rate, volume total , run hours, alarms and diagnostics. The LCD display can be mounted and operated up to five feet, or just over 1.5 metres, from the sensor and a built-in data logger ensures easy data access through Modbus. Flowmeters without a display feature analogue and pulse outputs, 24V AC/DC power, one pulse, and one analogue output as standard.
The WIN Ultrasonic Flowmeter completes the AW-Lake range of rugged and dependable flowmeters for the cooling circuits sector that also includes their TRG Standard Turbine Flow Meter. This instrument, which is widely used for monitoring solvents and other viscous fluids, provides precise measurements with a milli-second response time, as well as high pressure and temperature capabilities.
Also available from AW Lake is the economically-priced FlowStat Paddle Wheel Flowmeter, which has proven to be ideal for monitoring a variety of fluids in chiller/colling circuit and HVAC applications. The FlowStat Paddle Wheel Flowmeter provides a rapid response time, accuracy and low maintenance.
The Variable Area Flowmeter is ubiquitous at cooling systems that need to monitor pump performance as well as oil or water flows. This instrument offers a simple, low-cost setup and needs next to no maintenance. These meters provide standard accuracy and are not suitable for applications with caustic media and they can be used with pulse or analogue outputs or just for visual indication.
