Water quality monitoring
Alice Springs' water quality 'to remain unaffected'
Aug 26 2009
Stephan Stander, project manager of Cameco, which started drilling at the Angela site in May and will finish in September, said that water monitoring during the exploration phase showed no impact on the local water supply, ABC News reported.
"In addition to that, from discussions that came out with the community reference group, we've undertaken to initiate a water supply study," he stated.
In related news, the Stawell Times reported earlier this week that customers in one Australian town are pleased that local water is now being sourced directly via a pipeline from a lake in the Grampians as it has caused a noticeable improvement in quality and a reduction in saline levels.
