Real-Time Wireless Water Monitoring
May 28 2014
TelLab (Ireland), a chemical and analysis company, have been active in the area of environmental analysis for over 20 years. TelLab are currently developing AquaMonitrix, an easy-to-use, early warning pollution detection device for analysis of water in the field. State-of-the-art microfluidic technology is used in conjunction with reagent based chemistry to provide a system which can perform in-situ calibration and high frequency measurements over long-term usage. The innovative microfluidic technology of AquaMonitrix results in a convenient, portable device which can be deployed long-term in streams and waterways.
AquaMonitrix monitors pH, nitrate and nitrite simultaneously in real-time with wireless remote monitoring. AquaMonitrix can issue an immediate warning on detection of a pollution event and allow the monitor to react speedily, alerting relevant stakeholders and limiting environmental damage.
A range of analytical protocols are in development, utilising the chemical expertise within the company.
