How To Reduce Your Oil & Gas Methane Emissions in 2023
Jan 10 2023
With the EU Commission presenting a proposal on methane reduction, there has never been a more critical time for oil and gas companies to address how to drive down methane emissions. The proposal, which builds on the EU Methane Strategy 2020 and the Global Methane Pledge launched at COP26, introduces new requirements in terms of MRV, abatement measures, including LDAR, restrictions on venting and flaring and an increase in transparency on methane emissions associated with fossil fuels imports.
This has led to oil and gas operators needing to implement best practices to identify, measure, monitor and eliminate methane emissions, factor emissions reduction into operational planning and build a culture focused on methane mitigation.
But in the new context of energy geopolitics and affordability, how can we ensure methane reduction remains a priority concern?
Tackle these challenges and more at Methane Mitigation Europe.
This March 2023, following the huge success of the Methane Mitigation Summit in the US, the event is coming to Europe.
At Methane Mitigation Europe, hundreds of attendees will discuss best practices to identify, measure, monitor and eliminate methane emissions - all while continuing to meet the global demand for affordable and reliable oil and natural gas.
Taking place in Amsterdam on March 27-29, 2023, industry experts from BP, Environmental Defense Fund, Shell, TotalEnergies, Methane Guiding Principles, Equinor, Eni, and many more will be sharing insights through powerful keynote presentations, case studies, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive discussion groups. The event will also be showcasing the latest and leading technology to help you on your journey to Net-Zero.
“Had a great time attending the Methane Mitigation Summit 2022! It was great to collaborate and discuss methane mitigation strategies and upcoming regulations with other operators!” - Senior Environmental Specialist, Maverick Natural Resources
“Have you ever been in a room full of humans all focused on understanding and mitigating methane in the energy space? I have…and it was spectacular. Communication is key to solving complex problems. We’re in it together.” - Director of Technical Sales, Project Canary
Available to download now, the Methane Mitigation Europe Agenda will provide you with details of the sessions taking place during the 3-day event, who’ll be taking the stage, and how you can register.
If you can’t make it to the event, you can download the exclusive report, 5 Ways Oil and Gas Companies Can Reduce Methane Emissions.
Download the report to look at how TotalEnergies, BP, BPX Energy, Shell, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Eni, and ExxonMobil are reducing methane emissions, and review 5 ways oil and gas companies can mitigate methane emissions.
Plus, explore TotalEnergies approach to reducing the methane intensity in existing and new production assets, in an exclusive interview with David Mendelson, SVP of Exploration and Production at TotalEnergies. David also shares his thoughts on the energy transition and how the company folds emissions reduction into its daily operations.
