New Watcher Launched for Gas Detection

Gas Measurement Instruments Ltd (UK), manufacturer of portable and fixed gas detection equipment, has launched its new Watcher (Wireless Assessment & Training Checker).
The Watcher is a wireless simulation tool that uses a Bluetooth enabled Tablet computer and simulated gas detector. It is designed to assist Utility apprentices learn about gas detection and understand the significance of gas concentrations and alarm levels, without the need for using real gas.
By remotely controlling the operation of the gas detectors, you can completely control all aspects of the training, observe how the operator responds to gas values and alarms in different situations and customise training or retraining.
The Watcher has a wireless communication range of up to 100m (300ft), can be used with any 500 Series instrument and can display up to 4 gases. The detector has the capability of having audio and visual alarms, which emulates a real portable gas detector.
This invaluable accessory is simple to use and can be used for all types of training and assessment, to ensure personnel respond correctly in all aspects of gas detection including emergency response, leak detection, confined space monitoring and barholing/purging.
