LI-COR Announces the LI-7825 CO2 Isotope/NH3 Trace Gas Analyser

CO2 isotope measurements are a critical tool for studying climate change and for modelling future climate scenarios. By measuring CO2 isotopes and calculating isotopic ratios, researchers can identify the sources and sinks of atmospheric CO2, evaluate carbon sequestration efforts, partition net ecosystem carbon exchange, and gain insights into biological processes.

The LI-7825 CO2 Isotope/NH3 Trace Gas Analyser measures CO2 isotopologues in air and reports CO2 isotopic ratios with high precision and accuracy. A recent performance evaluation study shows that the LI-7825 meets or exceeds requirements for long-term atmospheric background measurements and offers a versatile platform for a range of applications for a better understanding of CO2 emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources.

The LI-7825 also measures higher concentrations of NH3, and is suitable for detecting ammonia in livestock barns, feedlots, barnyards, fertiliser applications, fence line monitoring, leaks, and other applications where NH3 concentration is elevated above natural abundance.

For over 35 years, LI-COR infrared gas analysers have been used and trusted by researchers and networks around the world. LI-COR Trace Gas Analysers utilise Optical Feedback Cavity Enhanced Absorption Spectroscopy (OF-CEAS) and multiple patented technologies to perform the measurements. A unique approach to the OF-CEAS method delivers precision and stability to measurements. Because LI-COR Trace Gas Analysers are designed to be weather resistant and portable, researchers are not limited to indoor or outdoor applications. The lightweight design, long-lasting rechargeable batteries, and optional backpack harness open opportunities for remote research sites, including those at high altitudes.

LI-COR Environmental is a leading technology innovator for plant physiology, ecosystem, soil, light, water, wind, and greenhouse gas research. LI-COR instruments and systems measure the core processes of an ecosystem, from atmospheric gas exchanges with CO2, CO2 isotope, CH4, and N2O trace gas analysers and comprehensive eddy covariance systems to complete short and long-term soil gas flux systems. LI-COR provides research solutions for plant and aquatic photosynthesis with the LI-6800 Portable Photosynthesis System, 6800-18 Aquatic Chamber, and LI-600 Porometer/Fluorometer. LI-COR also offers atmospheric and underwater light sensors, leaf area meters, canopy analysers, sonic anemometers, instrument software, and professional support and training for diverse research initiatives. The LI-COR mission is to impact lives through science, and they strive to help scientists address the challenges facing humanity. For more information, visit our website.
