30 years of testing medical gas - and still saving lives 

Bedfont Scientific Ltd., formerly, Bedfont Technical Instruments Ltd., is a long-standing supplier the Medi-gas Check range; a suite of medical gas pipeline analysers which safeguards patients and staff by testing medical gas in pipelines to verify that the right gas is being administered, as well as the right quantity and quality. 

Being portable, each monitor can verify and validate piped medical gas from the plant room, to distribution points, to the very point of delivery to the patient. The range is ideal for COSHH surveys and conforms fully to the requirements of UK Government Guidance in the form of the Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) 02-01 and other relevant legislation. In fact, the G210 was recently used to help establish the NHS Nightingale Hospital in Harrogate, which was built as part of the COVID-19 response. 

The latest addition to the Medi-gas Check range is the F8004 multi-air tester, ideal for both medical and dental air testing for a wide range of gasses and contaminants all within one device. Designed to provide a quick and easy method for carrying out accurate testing of breathing-air supplies, the multi-air tester has robust casing and a 7” touchscreen colour display. It has been designed to test against a range of international standards including EU Pharmacopoeia, HTM 02-01, HTM2022 Supplement 1. The instrument can also test breathing-air supplies to EN 12021, CGA G-7.1-2011 grade D and AS-NZS 1715:2009. 

The F8004 also incorporates electronic sensors for to measure gas quality and contaminants and a PID sensor to test for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). A sample test point for Dräger Impactors is used to test for the presence of oil aerosols, whilst an electronic dewpoint meter measures moisture content.
