SO3 Aerosol Removal System for Gas Analysis Sampling
Jan 02 2008
The SO3 aerosol removal system has three heat exchangers; the first cools the sample gas to about 4 deg C to remove large quantities of water. The gas then passes to a pair of heat exchangers in parallel, controlled at about -7 deg C, which are operated alternately in freeze/thaw mode to ensure uninterrupted operation and no SO3 slippage. This sub zero temperature forms a thin ice layer that captures and removes SO3 aerosol from the sample stream. The resultant gas has a water content of less than 3000ppm.
The heat exchangers are stainless steel with Durinert® coating which offers the inertness of glass with the durability and heat transfer capability of stainless steel. The inertness and durability of Durinert heat exchangers make them ideal solution for low NOx and acidic SO3 applications.
The system is complete with condensate pumps and timers for all functions, so requires minimal attention.
Tony Howard, Managing Director of Brunswick Instrumentation said, âThe acquisition by Perma Pure of Baldwin means that we can now offer total solutions to gas analyser users, whether chillers or permeation dyers, we can now give impartial advice as to the best technique for sample gas drying. No other company in the UK can do this.â
The Brunswick Instrumentation team provides extensive assistance with specification and commissioning and offers a range of service contracts on gas analyser installations. A full range of spares is stocked for Perma Pure and Baldwin products.
