Air Quality Monitoring
Latest acquisition strengthens environmental management solutions company
Nov 19 2024
Environmental management solutions company ENVEA, recently announced its acquisition of Droplet Measurement Technologies (Droplet), a developer of high-precision instruments for measuring aerosols, black carbon, and cloud droplets.
These instruments play a vital role in atmospheric research, providing essential data for advancing our understanding of air quality and climate science. Trusted by academic and governmental research institutions worldwide, Droplet’s technology enables the scientific discoveries needed to address today’s pressing environmental challenges.
This acquisition further strengthens ENVEA’s leadership in particulate monitoring, following its recent acquisition of Airmodus, a specialist in ultrafine particle measurement. With both Droplet and Airmodus, ENVEA reinforces its position as a key player in particulate measurement, a core platform for its future growth. Additionally, Droplet’s well-established connections to the research community and presence in the USA will provide ENVEA with new opportunities.
Trevor Sands, CEO of ENVEA, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Droplet to the ENVEA family. This acquisition is a key step in advancing our mission to prevent the harmful effects of environmental pollution on living conditions. By integrating Droplet’s cutting-edge capabilities in aerosol and cloud droplet measurement, we are better equipped to provide the precise data needed to tackle air quality challenges. Their close ties to the global research community will help us continue driving scientific progress. Moreover, this move strengthens our position in the USA and opens new opportunities in rapidly growing markets like Asia.”
Cyril Bourdarot, Managing Director on the Carlyle Europe Technology Partners advisory team, added: “The addition of Droplet’s business and expertise significantly enhances ENVEA’S capabilities in the particulate monitoring sector and expands the group’s operations in the US. This acquisition marks the seventh since Carlyle’s investment in ENVEA in 2020 and reinforces our position as a leading provider of environmental solutions. We see many consolidation opportunities in this fragmented industry to continue to expand ENVEA’s geographic footprint and portfolio of technologies”.
Romain Azoulai, Director on the Carlyle Europe Technology Partners (CETP) advisory team, commented: “This strategic development allows us to deliver comprehensive, high-precision solutions to both research and commercial markets, further expanding our reach and impact in addressing environmental challenges.”
Jeff Throckmorton, CEO of Droplet, concluded: “We are delighted to join forces with ENVEA, a company that shares our passion for innovation and advancing scientific understanding, as it relates to our climate. By integrating with ENVEA’s global platform, we are excited to continue supporting the research community and accelerating the development of solutions to the environmental challenges we face today.”
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
