Cost-effective, precise and dependable process analysis technology to be featured at CEM Barcelona in September

Jul 10 2023

Siemens needs little introduction as one of the most reputable names in the realm of highly advanced industrial environmental monitoring technology. Whatever your application, Siemens will provide the necessary technology to ensure that you have a cost-effective solution, with the rest-assured knowledge that they have the professional service to back up their technology and the reassurance that having a Siemens mark on the analyzer provides. At CEMS 2023, visitors and delegates at the event will be able to discuss their emission monitoring needs face-to-face with some of Siemens’ specialists in this field.

In Barcelona, Siemens will showcase their newly improved and cost-effective ULTRAMAT 23 emission monitor/gas analyzer at their booth. This latest version of the ULTRAMAT 23 boasts a low detection limit of 50mg/m3, which represents a significant advancement in sensitivity; as a result, the certification range has undergone considerable improvement. Previously, the range for NO was 150 mg/m³, while for CO, it stood at 200 mg/m³. With the latest enhancements, both components now achieve a detection limit of just 50 mg, setting a new industry standard. This innovative, multi-component gas analyzer is designed to meet the evolving needs of industries as they endeavour to comply with the ever-evolving environmental legislation, whilst keeping costs down. ULTRAMAT 23 features an IR detector, a UV photometer for UV-active gases, an H2S sensor, and an O2 sensor, and offers a reliable and precise solution versatility for a host of applications.

Another one of ULTRAMAT 23’s superb features is its integrated automatic calibration function, which uses ambient air for calibration, thus eliminating the need for frequent calibration gas tests and therefore reducing costs and streamlining operations. With this technology, a single calibration per year is all that is required, saving both time and money. This instrument’s user-friendly menu-guided interface makes navigation and operation easy. Users and service personnel will quickly grasp its functionality, enabling immediate device operation. In addition, the analyzer's logbook provides crucial information for preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Siemens have developed this analyzer to make emission monitoring as simple, precise and economical as possible. Siemens has developed ULTRAMAT 23 to be Process Analytics Made Into A Commodity.

Siemens will also feature the SITRANS AID IQ; the software solution designed to further enhance the availability and functionality of Siemens analyzers. SITRANS AID IQ allows users to monitor and appraise the health status data of their analyzers, enabling them to predict and prevent potential downtimes, optimise servicing procedures and streamline maintenance operations. SITRANS AID IQ’s early prediction capability allows service and maintenance personnel to take appropriate actions promptly, minimising unscheduled downtimes and therefore raising analyzer availability considerably. Automatically monitoring critical components reduces the necessity for frequent inspections, leads to cost savings and enables service personnel to allocate their time more efficiently.

SITRANS AID IQ provides seamless digitalisation for process analytics. The software uses a stable and low-maintenance Siemens controller to obtain data via existing communication interfaces. Operators access the intuitive user interface via a standard web browser on their PCs, eliminating the need for additional software. As an alternative, a Siemens HMI can be ordered for data reading. With its easy-to-navigate menus and minimal configuration, SITRANS AID IQ provides users with all the information required for maintenance activities and schedules. The plug-and-play concept ensures rapid deployment without the need for on-site experts and therefore an attractive price/performance ratio.
