Leading portable biogas analyser makes its way around the world

A year after launch, Geotech have just sold the latest portable biogas analyser, the BIOGAS 5000, to its 57th new country. Customers across six continents searching for an all-encompassing portable biogas analyser are satisfied that they have found their solution in the BIOGAS 5000, with the latest units shipped to Kazakhstan.

The BIOGAS 5000 combines accurate measurement of three key gases, CH4, CO2, O2, plus optional H2S, temperature and flow, with an easy to use layout. The impressive range of H2S measurement from 0-50ppm to 0-10,000ppm makes it ideal for measuring biogas in a variety of applications such as household waste or sugar processing to waste water treatment. Typical accuracy for CH4 and CO2 is +/- 0.5%. Furthermore, compared to the competition, the BIOGAS 5000 is proven not only to be the more accurate product but additionally has a faster response time on key gases.

The tough, portable device also has a better interface than its rivals. With a full colour screen and adjustable backlight and brightness, alphanumeric keypad, multiple language options, data logging and built in battery the BIOGAS 5000 is designed with the user in mind. Programming options allow for simple readings to be taken or data to be captured from pre–defined locations which can be downloaded for analysis. Updates are also available from Geotech’s website in just a click which allows users to install update files quickly and easily. With ATEX  and IECEx certification, a global support network and a 3 year warranty users can feel confident that they have made the right investment for the long term.

After seeing the BIOGAS 5000 at a tradeshow, David Allan of Future Biogas certainly hasn’t looked back. He stated ‘’we had tried a similar unit from Germany, but we preferred the Geotech. I find the unit to be robust, accurate and easy to operate. The BIOGAS 5000 is a great improvement to its predecessor, one of which we also own. The increased portability is its best feature for me.’’
