Green plane launched to improve air quality in skies

On Sunday (July 18th), Boeing's 787 Dreamliner completed its first international flight, after it flew from Seattle to Farnborough Airport near London.
The company said that this plane uses 20 per cent less fuel consumption than other aircraft, which will have a positive impact on the environment.
Speaking about the achievement, anti-airport expansion group Plane Stupid stated it welcomed the greener planes.
"Obviously greener planes should be welcomed, but this needs to be put into perspective. Airline fleets take decades to replace, so aviation will continue to pump millions of tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere with or without the Dreamliner," Joe Ryle, a spokesperson for the group, commented.
Despite Mr Ryle's criticisms, Boeing is hoping more airlines will be encouraged to purchase the aircraft, which collectively will have significance for the environment.
One airline which has shown its support for the Dreamliner is Royal Jordanian, which has signed up for 11 airplanes in total.
